Lunch time is 12.00 noon until 1.00pm in the infants and 12.15pm to 1.00pm for juniors.
As from September 2014 all infant children are entitled to a free school meal. The Government is funding this initiative in order to provide a healthy, nutritious meal for all children at lunchtime with the aim of improving academic attainment and saving families money following the Department of education’s recent review of school food.
Free School Meals
However if your child is in KS1 or KS2 and they are entitled to a free school meal through the qualifying criteria below it is important that you still register your entitlement in order for schools to receive the pupil premium funding. This money is used to provide support and resources for children in school.
Your child may be entitled to receive free school meals if you are entitled to receive one of the following:
· Income Support
· Income Based Jobseeker’s Allowance
· Income related Employment and Support Allowance
· Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
· The guarantee element of the State Pension Credit
· Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190
To make sure your child doesn’t miss out contact either Mrs Latham or Miss Knight in the school office.
